Chemical Peeling

A chemical peel is a body treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.

The product used Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are naturally occurring carboxylic acids such as glycolic acid, a natural constituent of sugar cane juice and lactic acid, found in sour milk and tomato juice.

This is the mildest of the peel formulas and produces light peels for treatment of fine wrinkles, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne
Facial peels are beneficial in helping to improve the visible signs of aging, sun damage and acne.

Peels can be used to treat a number of skin conditions such as Xanthelasma (cholesterol or fatty deposits around the eyes), acne and sun damage.

A superficial peel is designed to remove the damaged skin surface cells, making the skin appear smoother and healthier.

It also promotes an even pigmentation, removes fine wrinkles and, with repeated peels, has deeper skin firming effects.

our dermatologist will discuss your medical history, skin sensitivities and expectations, and will then design a program especially for you. You will be back to your normal routine the day after a superficial peel.

Almost everyone has a pigmented lesion of some type. These areas of the skin contain especially high concentrations of melanin and are typically caused by an excess of pigment commonly due to sun exposure, aging or congenital factors.

Pigmented lesions vary widely in size, shape and depth. Some are no bigger than a fingertip or even a pinhead, while others may be as large as a hand and occur in such conspicuous places as the face, neck or arms.

They can be either raised or flat and are usually a cosmetic rather than a medical concern.

However, certain moles or “sun spots” can be precancerous; removing these lesions is medically necessary.
